Size of Kylos Compact GPS Module

Kylos Compact GPS (click for further information) Small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, this device is an ideal solution for monitoring and tracking high-value merchandise, valuable assets and for keeping the user informed about the whereabouts of family members and pets. This unit is (a) waterproof (IP65), (b) will measure and alert to impacts, temperature changes and light conditions, and (c) send alerts by SMS/email to preselected emergency contacts using a panic button.

 

Kylos GPS (click for further information) With a longer battery life, this device is operational for longer periods of time without recharging, making it ideal for monitoring vehicles, valuable equipment, and commercial goods traveling long routes.

Kylos Forever can monitor valuable assets or equipment placed in remote areas for months at a time, with a battery that lasts up to 3 years. This reduces the risk of having valuable property and equipment stolen, lost or possibly forgotten! When the device is in “sleep” mode, it will “wake up” and report events which appear to be out of the ordinary or unexpected.

Kylos Air provides an overall solution for ULD pallets (standard aerial Unit Load Devices) and ULD containers. Kylos Air is easily installed and removed, and offers high accuracy sensors and reliable performance. The product is based on Kylos Forever – a trusted and tested system which provides real time alerts and tracking through Starcom’s mobile and web applications. In a world of international commerce and growing volumes of valuable cargo being shipped by air daily, knowing your cargo’s exact location is a major advantage. Kylos Air is a sophisticated tracking system, expressly designed to monitor and track air cargo. The system triggers an alert in the event of any irregular event. This includes any change of location, temperature variations, impacts, or light exposure. Real time alerts may be reported at each point in the shipping process, so the user will know when the product has departed the user’s facility, arrived at the airport, and delivered at its final destination. These alerts allow the user to solve any problems that might arise in real time, which may affect the supply chain process. A documented record of historical sensor events, and alerts, can help the user investigate any incidents experienced during the cargo’s shipping process. The solution complies with the FAA regulations: the cellular modem is deactivated during take-off, and reactivated automatically upon landing using its internal barometric pressure and accelerometer sensors.

Key Features

Programmable Events: According to the user’s needs and preferences, Kylos can be programmed to trigger email or text alerts either by a single event (e.g., impact, movement, light exposure), or a combination of events (e.g., light exposure + movement).

Perimeter Based Alerts: Geo-fencing alerts can be set so that movements outside a specified area, at a specified time, will generate warnings.

Automated Tracking: Location reports can be generated based on predefined and configurable intervals or parameters, without the need for the user to actively send additional commands.

Goods Protection: A built-in accelerometer will generate a wide range of automated notifications when protected assets or goods are moved or damaged.

Communication: Cellular connectivity for GSM networks (GPRS or optional 3G), while using both the SMS channel and the data channel. Supported bands are 850/900/1800 MHz. Optional support for CDMA and HSDPA networks.

TCP Connectivity: Support for the GPRS/1x TCP/IP networks by either staying online at all times, or coming online when a transmission is initiated.

DNS Support: Connection to a server by its host name.

Backup Server: Backup host name support if main server goes offliine.

Encryption: Protocol encryption to provide maximum security between the unit and the center.

Compact Protocol: Less than 70 bytes per messages enables very small bandwidth usage and saves communication costs.

Over-the-Air Commands: Firmware upgrades may be made to apply new features to units already deployed. Option to set periodic transmissions from the unit in intervals between 10 seconds to 5 days.

Internal Logging: Whenever a transmission has failed to be sent, the entire message is saved to memory for a later transmission. Up to 15,000 complete messages, including statuses, can be recorded this way.

GPS Receiver Location: Built-in GPS receiver allows real-time tracking and on-board location-based analysis.

Last Location Saving: The unit’s last location is saved, in the event GPS/GSM coverage fails.
